But when we are judged by the Lord\, we are chastened so that we may not be condemned along with the world. So then\, my brethren\, when you come together to eat\, wait for one another – if any one is hungry\, let him eat at home – lest you come together to be condemned. About the other things I will give directions when I come. Now concerning the spiritual gifts\, brethren\, I do not want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were heathen\, you were led astray to dumb idols\, however you may have been moved. Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit. Now there are varieties of gifts\, but the same spirit; and there are varieties of service\, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working\, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 18:1-11\nAt that time\, the disciples came to Jesus\, saying\, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child\, he put him in the midst of them and said\, “Truly\, I say to you\, unless you turn and become like children\, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child\, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.\n“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin\, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.\n“Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come\, but woe to the man by whom the temptation comes! And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin\, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin\, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the Gehenna of fire.\n“See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven. For the Son of man came to save the lost.”

Κρινόμενοι δέ\, ὑπὸ κυρίου παιδευόμεθα\, ἵνα μὴ σὺν τῷ κόσμῳ κατακριθῶμεν. Ὥστε\, ἀδελφοί μου\, συνερχόμενοι εἰς τὸ φαγεῖν\, ἀλλήλους ἐκδέχεσθε. Εἰ δέ τις πεινᾷ\, ἐν οἴκῳ ἐσθιέτω· ἵνα μὴ εἰς κρίμα συνέρχησθε. Τὰ δὲ λοιπά\, ὡς ἂν ἔλθω\, διατάξομαι. Περὶ δὲ τῶν πνευματικῶν\, ἀδελφοί\, οὐ θέλω ὑμᾶς ἀγνοεῖν. Οἴδατε ὅτι ὅτε ἔθνη ἦτε πρὸς τὰ εἴδωλα τὰ ἄφωνα\, ὡς ἂν ἤγεσθε\, ἀπαγόμενοι. Διὸ γνωρίζω ὑμῖν\, ὅτι οὐδεὶς ἐν πνεύματι θεοῦ λαλῶν λέγει Ἀνάθεμα Ἰησοῦν· καὶ οὐδεὶς δύναται εἰπεῖν\, Κύριον Ἰησοῦν\, εἰ μὴ ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ. Διαιρέσεις δὲ χαρισμάτων εἰσίν\, τὸ δὲ αὐτὸ πνεῦμα. Καὶ διαιρέσεις διακονιῶν εἰσίν\, καὶ ὁ αὐτὸς κύριος. Καὶ διαιρέσεις ἐνεργημάτων εἰσίν\, ὁ δὲ αὐτός ἐστιν θεός\, ὁ ἐνεργῶν τὰ πάντα ἐν πᾶσιν.\nἈνάγνωσις Εὐαγγελίου: Κατὰ Ματθαῖον 18:1-11\nΤῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ\, προσῆλθον οἱ μαθηταὶ τῷ ᾿Ιησοῦ λέγοντες· τίς ἄρα μείζων ἐστὶν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν; καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς παιδίον ἔστησεν αὐτὸ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν\, ἐὰν μὴ στραφῆτε καὶ γένησθε ὡς τὰ παιδία\, οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν. ὅστις οὖν ταπεινώσει ἑαυτὸν ὡς τὸ παιδίον τοῦτο\, οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ μείζων ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν. καὶ ὃς ἐὰν δέξηται παιδίον τοιοῦτον ἓν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου\, ἐμὲ δέχεται· ὃς δ᾿ ἂν σκανδαλίσῃ ἕνα τῶν μικρῶν τούτων τῶν πιστευόντων εἰς ἐμέ\, συμφέρει αὐτῷ ἵνα κρεμασθῇ μύλος ὀνικὸς εἰς τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ καταποντισθῇ ἐν τῷ πελάγει τῆς θαλάσσης. Οὐαὶ τῷ κόσμῳ ἀπὸ τῶν σκανδάλων· ἀνάγκη γάρ ἐστιν ἐλθεῖν τὰ σκάνδαλα· πλὴν οὐαὶ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι᾿ οὗ τὸ σκάνδαλον ἔρχεται. εἰ δὲ ἡ χείρ σου ἢ ὁ πούς σου σκανδαλίζει σε\, ἔκκοψον αὐτὰ καὶ βάλε ἀπὸ σοῦ· καλόν σοί ἐστιν εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν ζωὴν χωλὸν ἢ κυλλόν\, ἢ δύο χεῖρας ἢ δύο πόδας ἔχοντα βληθῆναι εἰς τὸ πῦρ τὸ αἰώνιον. καὶ εἰ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου σκανδαλίζει σε\, ἔξελε αὐτὸν καὶ βάλε ἀπὸ σοῦ· καλόν σοί ἐστι μονόφθαλμον εἰς τὴν ζωὴν εἰσελθεῖν\, ἢ δύο ὀφθαλμοὺς ἔχοντα βληθῆναι εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός. ῾Ορᾶτε μὴ καταφρονήσητε ἑνὸς τῶν μικρῶν τούτων· λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτῶν ἐν οὐρανοῖς διὰ παντὸς βλέπουσι τὸ πρόσωπον τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς. ἦλθε γὰρ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου σῶσαι τὸ ἀπολωλός.
