SUMMARY:☦️ Euphemia the Great Martyr
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/11/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Euphemia the Great Martyr; The All-Praised Olga\, Equal-to-the-Apostles\, Princess of Kiev; Nektarios the New Martyr; Sophrony the Athonite of Essex; Nicodemos the New Martyr of Mt. Athos\nStrict Fast\nMatins Gospel Reading: Mark 5:24-34\nAt that time\, a great crowd followed Jesus and thronged about him. And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years\, and who had suffered much under many physicians\, and had spent all that she had\, and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus\, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said\, “If I touch even his garments\, I shall be made well.” And immediately the hemorrhage ceased; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. And Jesus\, perceiving in himself that power had gone forth from him\, immediately turned about in the crowd\, and said\, “Who touched my garments?” And his disciples said to him\, “You see the crowd pressing around you\, and yet you say\, ‘Who touched me?'” And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman\, knowing what had been done to her\, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him\, and told him the whole truth. And he said to her\, “Daughter\, your faith has made you well; go in peace\, and be healed of your disease.”\nEpistle Reading: II Corinthians 6:1-10\nBrethren\, working together with him\, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says\, “At the acceptable time I have listened to you\, and helped you on the day of salvation.” Behold\, now is the acceptable time; behold\, now is the day of salvation. We put no obstacle in any one’s way\, so that no fault may be found with our ministry\, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance\, in afflictions\, hardships\, calamities\, beatings\, imprisonments\, tumults\, labors\, watching\, hunger; by purity\, knowledge\, forbearance\, kindness\, the Holy Spirit\, genuine love\, truthful speech\, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; in honor and dishonor\, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors\, and yet are true; as unknown\, and yet well known; as dying\, and behold we live; as punished\, and yet not killed; as sorrowful\, yet always rejoicing; as poor\, yet making many rich; as having nothing\, and yet possessing everything.\nGospel Reading: Luke 7:36-50\nAt that time\, one of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him\, and he went into the Pharisee’s house\, and took his place at table. And behold\, a woman of the city\, who was a sinner\, when she learned that he was at table in the Pharisee’s house\, brought an alabaster flask of ointment\, and standing behind him at his feet\, weeping\, she began to wet his feet with her tears\, and wiped them with the hair of her head\, and kissed his feet\, and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it\, he said to himself\, “If this man were a prophet\, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him\, for she is a sinner.” And Jesus answering said to him\, “Simon\, I have something to say to you.” And he answered\, “What is it\, Teacher?” “A certain creditor had two debtors; one owed five hundred denarii\, and the other fifty. When they could not pay\, he forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?” Simon answered\, “The one\, I suppose\, to whom he forgave more.” And he said to him\, “You have judged rightly.” Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon\, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house\, you gave me no water for my feet\, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss\, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil\, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you\, her sins\, which are many\, are forgiven\, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little\, loves little.” And he said to her\, “Your sins are forgiven.” Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves\, “Who is this\, who even forgives sins?” And he said to the woman\, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

SUMMARY:Proclus & Hilary the Martyrs of Ancyra
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/12/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Proclus & Hilary the Martyrs of Ancyra; Our Holy Father Michael of Maleinus; Gerasimos of Byzantium and Akakios the young ascetic; Paisios the Athonite; Veronica\, the woman with the issue of blood who was healed by Jesus; Andre the Commander & his Companion Martyrs\nEpistle Reading: Romans 8:14-21\nBrethren\, all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.\nFor you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear\, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry\, “Abba! Father!” it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God\, and if children\, then heirs\, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ\, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.\nI consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; for the creation was subjected to futility\, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 9:9-13\nAt that time\, as Jesus passed on\, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax office; and he said to him\, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.\nAnd as he sat at table in the house\, behold\, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw this\, they said to his disciples\, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” But when he heard it\, he said\, “Those who are well have no need of a physician\, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means\, ‘I desire mercy\, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous\, but sinners to repentance.”

SUMMARY:Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Council
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/13/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the 4th Ecumenical Council; Synaxis of Archangel Gabriel; Stephen of Mar Sabbas Monastery; Holy Martyr Golinduc; Marcian the Martyr of Iconium; Serapion the Martyr\nMatins Gospel Reading: Luke 24:12-35\nAt that time\, two of them were going to a village named Emmaus\, about seven miles from Jerusalem\, and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together\, Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing Him. And He said to them\, “What is this conversation which you are holding with each other as you walk?” and they stood still\, looking sad. Then one of them\, named Cleopas\, answered Him\, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” And He said to them\, “What things?” And they said to him\, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth\, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people\, and how our chief priests and rulers delivered Him up to be condemned to death\, and crucified Him. But we had hoped that He was the one to redeem Israel. Yes\, and besides all this\, it is now the third day since this happened. Moreover\, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find His body; and they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels\, who said that He was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb\, and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.” And He said to them\, “O foolish men\, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Was not it necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into this glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the prophets\, He interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself. So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He appeared to be going further\, but they constrained Him\, saying\, “Stay with us\, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So He went in to stay with them. When He was at table with them\, He took the bread and blessed\, and broke it\, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished out of their sight. They said to each other\, “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road\, while He opened to us the scriptures?” And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven gathered together and those who were with them\, who said\, “The Lord has risen indeed\, and has appeared to Simon!” Then they told what had happened on the road and how He was known to them in the breaking of the bread.\nEpistle Reading: Titus 3:8-15\nTitus\, my son\, the saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things\, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men. But avoid stupid controversies\, genealogies\, dissensions\, and quarrels over the law\, for they are unprofitable and futile. As for a man who is factious\, after admonishing him once or twice\, have nothing more to do with him\, knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned.\nWhen I send Artemas or Tychicos to you\, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis\, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. And let our people learn to apply themselves to good deeds\, so as to help cases of urgent need\, and not to be unfruitful.\nAll who are with me send greeting to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 5:14-19\nThe Lord said to his disciples\, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel\, but on a stand\, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men\, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly\, I say to you\, till heaven and earth pass away\, not an iota\, not a dot\, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so\, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

SUMMARY:Aquila the Apostle among the 70
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/14/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Aquila the Apostle among the 70; Our Holy Father Joseph the Confessor\, Archbishop of Thessalonica; Nicodemus the Righteous of Mount Athos; Peter the New Hieromartyr and the four New Martyrs of Melissourgeio Kissamos; Justus the Martyr\nEpistle Reading: Romans 16:1-16\nBrethren\, I commend to you our sister Phoebe\, a deaconess of the church at Cenchreai\, that you may receive her in the Lord as befits the saints\, and help her in whatever she may require from you\, for she has been a helper of many and of myself as well. Greet Prisca and Aquila\, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus\, who risked their necks for my life\, to whom not only I but also all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks; greet also the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epainetos\, who was the first convert in Asia for Christ. Greet Mary\, who has worked hard among you. Greet Andronicos and Junias\, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners; they are men of note among the apostles\, and they were in Christ before me. Greet Ampliatos\, my beloved in the Lord. Greet Urbanus\, our fellow worker in Christ\, and my beloved Stachys. Greet Apelles\, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulos. Greet my kinsman Herodion. Greet those in the Lord who belong to the family of Narcissos. Greet those workers in the Lord\, Tryphaina and Tryphosa. Greet the beloved Persis\, who has worked hard in the Lord. Greet Rufus\, eminent in the Lord\, also his mother and mine. Greet Asyncritos\, Phlegon\, Hermes\, Patrobas\, Hermas\, and the brethren who are with them. Greet Philologos\, Julia\, Nereus and his sister\, and Olympas\, and all the saints who are with them. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 13:10-23\,43\nAt that time\, the disciples of Jesus came to him and said to him\, “Why do you speak to the crowds in parables?” And he answered them\, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven\, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more be given\, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not\, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables\, because seeing they do not see\, and hearing they do not hear\, nor do they understand. With them indeed is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah which says: ‘You shall indeed hear but never understand\, and you shall indeed see but never perceive. For this people’s heart has grown dull\, and their ears are heavy of hearing\, and their eyes they have closed\, lest they should perceive with their eyes\, and hear with their ears\, and understand with their heart\, and turn for me to heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes\, for they see\, and your ears\, for they hear. Truly\, I say to you\, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see\, and did not see it\, and to hear what you hear\, and did not hear it.\n“Hear then the parable of the sower. When any one hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it\, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in his heart; this is what was sown along the path. As for what was sown on rocky ground\, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself\, but endures for a while\, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word\, immediately he falls away. As for what was sown among thorns\, this is he who hears the word\, but the cares of the world and the delight in riches choke the word\, and it proves unfruitful. As for what was sown on good soil\, this is he who hears the word and understands it; he indeed bears fruit\, and yields\, in one case a hundredfold\, in another sixty\, and in another thirty. He who has ears to hear\, let him hear.”

SUMMARY:The Holy Martyrs Cyricus and His Mother Julitta
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/15/2025\nSaints and Feasts: The Holy Martyrs Cyricus and His Mother Julitta; Vladimir\, Equal-to-the-Apostles of Kiev; The Finding of the Head of St. Matrona of Chios; Donald and his Nine Daughters; Swithun\, Bishop of Winchester\nEpistle Reading: I Corinthians 13:11-14;14:1-5\nBRETHREN\, when I was a child\, I spoke like a child\, I thought like a child\, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man\, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly\, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully\, even as I have been fully understood. So faith\, hope\, love abide\, these three; but the greatest of these is love. Make love your aim\, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts\, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him\, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand\, he who prophesies speaks to men for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself\, but he who prophesies edifies the church. Now I want you all to speak in tongues\, but even more to prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than he who speaks in tongues\, unless some one interprets\, so that the church may be edified.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 17:24-27; 18:1-4\nAt that time\, the collectors of the half-shekel tax went up to Peter and said\, “Does not your teacher pay the tax?” He said\, “Yes.” And when he came home\, Jesus spoke to him first\, saying\, “What do you think\, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tribute? From their sons or from others?” And when he said\, “From others\,” Jesus said to him\, “Then the sons are free. However\, not to give offense to them\, go to the sea and cast a hook\, and take the first fish that comes up\, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel; take that and give it to them for me and for yourself.”\n At that time the disciples came to Jesus\, saying\, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child\, he put him in the midst of them\, and said\, “Truly\, I say to you\, unless you turn and become like children\, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child\, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

SUMMARY:☦️ Athenogenes the Holy Martyr of Heracleopolis
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/16/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Athenogenes the Holy Martyr of Heracleopolis; Julia the Virgin-martyr of Carthage; 1\,015 Martyrs in Pisidia; Helier the Hermit\, Martyr of Jersey\nStrict Fast\nEpistle Reading: I Corinthians 2:9-16;3:1-8\nBrethren\, “What no eye has seen\, nor ear heard\, nor the heart of man conceived\, what God has prepared for those who love him\,” God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything\, even the depths of God. For what person knows a man’s thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world\, but the Spirit which is from God\, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit\, comparing spiritual things with spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit. The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God\, for they are folly to him\, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things\, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. But I\, brethren\, could not address you as spiritual men\, but as men of the flesh\, as babes in Christ. I fed you with milk\, not solid food; for you were not ready for it; and even yet you are not ready\, for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you\, are you not of the flesh\, and behaving like ordinary men? For when one says\, “I belong to Paul\,” and another\, “I belong to Apollos\,” are you not merely men? What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed\, as the Lord assigned to each. I planted\, Apollos watered\, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything\, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are equal\, and each shall receive his wages according to his labor.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 13:31-36\nThe Lord said this parable\, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all seeds\, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree\, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” He told them another parable. “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour\, till it was all leavened.”\nAll this Jesus said to the crowds in parables; indeed he said nothing to them without a parable. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: “I will open my mouth in parables\, I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.” Then Jesus left the crowds and went into the house.

SUMMARY:The Holy Great Martyr Marina (Margaret)
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/17/2025\nSaints and Feasts: The Holy Great Martyr Marina (Margaret); Veronika & Speratos the Martyrs; Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia; Kenelm\, Prince of Mercia\nEpistle Reading: Galatians 3:23-29;4:1-5\nBrethren\, before faith came\, we were confined under the law\, kept under restraint until faith should be revealed. So that the law was our custodian until Christ came\, that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come\, we are no longer under a custodian; for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God\, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek\, there is neither slave nor free\, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s\, then you are Abraham’s offspring\, heirs according to promise. I mean that the heir\, as long as he is a child\, is no better than a slave\, though he is the owner of all the estate; but he is under guardians and trustees until the date set by the father. So with us; when we were children\, we were slaves to the elemental spirits of the universe. But when the time had fully come\, God sent forth his Son\, born of a woman\, born under the law\, to redeem those who were under the law\, so that we might receive adoption as sons.\nGospel Reading: Mark 5:24-34\nAt that time\, a great crowd followed Jesus and thronged about him. And he said to her\, “Daughter\, your faith has made you well; go in peace\, and be healed of your disease.”

SUMMARY:☦️ Holy Martyr Emilian
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/18/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Holy Martyr Emilian; Holy Martyrs Paul\, Thea and Valentine; Stephen\, Archbishop of Constantinople; Our Holy Father John\, Archbishop of Constantinople; Holy New Martyrs Elizabeth the Grand Duchess and the Novice Barbara; Theneva of Glasgow\nStrict Fast\nEpistle Reading: I Corinthians 4:5-8\nBrethren\, do not pronounce judgment before the time\, before the Lord comes\, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then every man will receive his commendation from God. I have applied all this to myself and Apollos for your benefit\, brethren\, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written\, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. For who sees anything different in you? What have you that you did not receive? If then you received it\, why do you boast as if it were not a gift? Already you are filled! Already you have become rich! Without us you have become kings! And would that you did reign\, so that we might share the rule with you!\nGospel Reading: Matthew 13:44-54\nThe Lord said this parable\, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field\, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.\n Again\, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls\, who\, on finding one pearl of great value\, went and sold all that he had and bought it.\n Again\, the kingdom of heaven is like a net which was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind; when it was full\, men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good into vessels but threw away the bad. So it will be at the close of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous\, and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.\n Have you understood all this?” They said to him\, “Yes.” And he said to them\, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.” And when Jesus had finished these parables\, he went away from there\, and coming to his own country he taught them in their synagogue.

Ταῦτα δέ\, ἀδελφοί\, μετεσχημάτισα εἰς ἐμαυτὸν καὶ Ἀπολλὼ διʼ ὑμᾶς\, ἵνα ἐν ἡμῖν μάθητε τὸ μὴ ὑπὲρ ὃ γέγραπται φρονεῖν\, ἵνα μὴ εἷς ὑπὲρ τοῦ ἑνὸς φυσιοῦσθε κατὰ τοῦ ἑτέρου. Τίς γάρ σε διακρίνει; Τί δὲ ἔχεις ὃ οὐκ ἔλαβες; Εἰ δὲ καὶ ἔλαβες\, τί καυχᾶσαι ὡς μὴ λαβών; Ἤδη κεκορεσμένοι ἐστέ\, ἤδη ἐπλουτήσατε\, χωρὶς ἡμῶν ἐβασιλεύσατε· καὶ ὄφελόν γε ἐβασιλεύσατε\, ἵνα καὶ ἡμεῖς ὑμῖν συμβασιλεύσωμεν.\nἈνάγνωσις Εὐαγγελίου: Κατὰ Ματθαῖον 13:44-54\nΕἶπεν ὁ Κύριος τήν παραβολὴν ταύτην· ῾Ομοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν θησαυρῷ κεκρυμμένῳ ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ\, ὃν εὑρὼν ἄνθρωπος ἔκρυψε\, καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς χαρᾶς αὐτοῦ ὑπάγει καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἔχει πωλεῖ καὶ ἀγοράζει τὸν ἀγρὸν ἐκεῖνον. Πάλιν ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν σαγήνῃ βληθείσῃ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ἐκ παντὸς γένους συναγαγούσῃ· ἥν\, ὅτε ἐπληρώθη\, ἀναβιβάσαντες αὐτὴν ἐπὶ τὸν αἰγιαλὸν καὶ καθίσαντες συνέλεξαν τὰ καλὰ εἰς ἀγγεῖα\, τὰ δὲ σαπρὰ ἔξω ἔβαλον. οὕτως ἔσται ἐν τῇ συντελείᾳ τοῦ αἰῶνος. ἐξελεύσονται οἱ ἄγγελοι καὶ ἀφοριοῦσι τοὺς πονηροὺς ἐκ μέσου τῶν δικαίων\, καὶ βαλοῦσιν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν κάμινον τοῦ πυρός· ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων. Λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς· συνήκατε ταῦτα πάντα; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ\, ναί\, Κύριε. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· διὰ τοῦτο πᾶς γραμματεὺς μαθητευθεὶς εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν ὅμοιός ἐστιν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδεσπότῃ\, ὅστις ἐκβάλλει ἐκ τοῦ θησαυροῦ αὐτοῦ καινὰ καὶ παλαιά. Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ ᾿Ιησοῦς τὰς παραβολὰς ταύτας μετῆρεν ἐκεῖθεν\, καὶ ἐλθὼν εἰς τὴν πατρίδα αὐτοῦ ἐδίδασκεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ αὐτῶν\, ὥστε ἐκπλήττεσθαι αὐτοὺς καὶ λέγειν· πόθεν τούτῳ ἡ σοφία αὕτη καὶ αἱ δυνάμεις;

SUMMARY:Macrina the Righteous\, sister of St. Basil
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/19/2025\nSaints and Feasts: Macrina the Righteous\, sister of St. Basil; Dius\, Abbot of Antioch; Saint Theodore\, Bishop of Edessa; Translation of the Holy Relics of Righteous Seraphim of Sarov\nEpistle Reading: Romans 9:1-5\nBrethren\, I am speaking the truth in Christ\, I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit\, that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brethren\, my kinsmen by race. They are Israelites\, and to them belong the patriarchs\, and of their race\, according to the flesh\, is the Christ\, who is God over all\, blessed for ever. Amen.\nGospel Reading: Matthew 9:18-26\nAt that time\, a ruler came in and knelt before Jesus\, saying\, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her\, and she will live.” And Jesus rose and followed him\, with his disciples. And behold\, a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment; for she said to herself\, “If I only touch his garment\, I shall be made well.” Jesus turned\, and seeing her he said\, “Take heart\, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And instantly the woman was made well. And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house\, and saw the flute players\, and the crowd making a tumult\, he said\, “Depart; for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. But when the crowd had been put outside\, he went in and took her by the hand\, and the girl arose. And the report of this went through all that district.

SUMMARY:6th Sunday of Matthew
DESCRIPTION:Saints\, Feasts\, and Readings for 07/20/2025\nSaints and Feasts: 6th Sunday of Matthew; The Glorious Prophet Elias (Elijah); Synaxis of the Russians who were perfected in France: Protopresbyter Alexios Mednedkov\, Presbyter Dimitrii Klepinin\, Mother Maria Skobtsova\, her son Yuri Skobtsov\, and Ilia Fondaminskii; Mother Maria Skobtsova\, New-Martyr of France\nMatins Gospel Reading: Luke 24:36-53\nAt that time\, having risen from the dead\, Jesus went up and stood among His disciples and said to them\, “Peace be with you.” But they were startled and frightened\, and supposed that they saw a spirit. And He said to them\, “Why are you troubled\, and why do questionings rise in your hearts? See My hands and My feet\, that it is I Myself; handle Me\, and see; for a spirit has not flesh and bones as you see that I have.” And when He had said this\, He showed them His hands and His feet. And while they still disbelieved for joy\, and wondered\, He said to them\, “Have you anything here to eat?” They gave Him a piece of broiled fish \, and He took it and ate before them. Then He said to them\, “These are My words which I spoke to you\, while I was still with you\, that everything written about Me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the scriptures\, and said to them\, “Thus it is written\, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead\, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be preached in His name in all nations\, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold\, I send the promise of My Father upon you; but stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” Then He led them out as far as Bethany\, and lifting up His hands\, He blessed them. While He blessed them\, He parted from them\, and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him\, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy\, and were continually in the Temple blessing God.\nEpistle Reading: James 5:10-20\nBRETHREN\, take as an example of suffering and patience the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold\, we call those happy who were steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job\, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord\, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. But above all\, my brethren\, do not swear\, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath\, but let your yes be yes and your no be no\, that you may not fall under condemnation. Is any one among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church\, and let them pray over him\, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick man\, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins\, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another\, and pray for one another\, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects. Elijah was a man of like nature with ourselves and he prayed fervently that it might not rain\, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again and the heaven gave rain\, and the earth brought forth its fruit. My brethren\, if any one among you wanders from the truth and some one brings him back\, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.Gospel Reading: Matthew 9:1-8\nAt that time\, getting into a boat Jesus crossed over and came to his own city. And behold\, they brought to him a paralytic\, lying on his bed; and when Jesus saw their faith he said to the paralytic\, “Take heart\, my son; your sins are forgiven.” And behold\, some of the scribes said to themselves\, “This man is blaspheming.” But Jesus\, knowing their thoughts\, said\, “Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier\, to say ‘Your sins are forgiven\,’ or to say ‘Rise and walk?’ But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins” he then said to the paralytic — “Rise\, take up your bed and go home.” And he rose and went home. When the crowds saw it\, they were afraid\, and they glorified God\, who had given such authority to men.
