He has no need\, like those high priests\, to offer sacrifices daily\, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself.  Indeed\, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests\, but the word of the oath\, which came later than the law\, appoints a Son who has been made perfect for ever.  Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest\, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven\, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord.\nGospel Reading: John 10:1-9\nThe Lord said to the Jews who had come to him\, “Truly\, truly\, I say to you\, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way\, that man is a thief and a robber; but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens; the sheep hear his voice\, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own\, he goes before them\, and the sheep follow him\, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow\, but they will flee from him\, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” This figure Jesus used with them\, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. So Jesus again said to them\, “Truly\, truly\, I say to you\, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not heed them. I am the door; if any one enters by me\, he will be saved\, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

When the seven days were almost completed\, the Jews from Asia\, who had seen him in the temple\, stirred up all the crowd\, and laid hands on him\, crying out\, “Men of Israel\, help! This is the man who is teaching men everywhere against the people and the law and this place; moreover he also brought Greeks into the temple\, and he has defiled this holy place.” For they had previously seen Trophimos the Ephesian with him in the city\, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple. Then all the city was aroused\, and the people ran together; they seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple\, and at once the gates were shut. And as they were trying to kill him\, word came to the tribune of the cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion. Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὁ κατὰ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ τοῦ νόμου καὶ τοῦ τόπου τούτου πάντας πανταχοῦN διδάσκων· ἔτι τε καὶ Ἕλληνας εἰσήγαγεν εἰς τὸ ἱερόν\, καὶ κεκοίνωκεν τὸν ἅγιον τόπον τοῦτον. Ἦσαν γὰρ ἑωρακότες Τρόφιμον τὸν Ἐφέσιον ἐν τῇ πόλει σὺν αὐτῷ\, ὃν ἐνόμιζον ὅτι εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν εἰσήγαγεν ὁ Παῦλος. 30 Ἐκινήθη τε ἡ πόλις ὅλη\, καὶ ἐγένετο συνδρομὴ τοῦ λαοῦ· καὶ ἐπιλαβόμενοι τοῦ Παύλου εἷλκον αὐτὸν ἔξω τοῦ ἱεροῦ· καὶ εὐθέως ἐκλείσθησαν αἱ θύραι. Ζητούντων δὲ αὐτὸν ἀποκτεῖναι\, ἀνέβη φάσις τῷ χιλιάρχῳ τῆς σπείρης\, ὅτι ὅλη συγκέχυται Ἱερουσαλήμ· ὃς ἐξαυτῆς παραλαβὼν στρατιώτας καὶ ἑκατοντάρχους\, κατέδραμεν ἐπʼ αὐτούς· οἱ δέ\, ἰδόντες τὸν χιλίαρχον καὶ τοὺς στρατιώτας\, ἐπαύσαντο τύπτοντες τὸν Παῦλον.\nἈνάγνωσις Εὐαγγελίου: Κατὰ Ἰωάννην 16:2-13\nΕἶπεν ὁ Κὐριος τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ μαθηταῖς· ἔρχεται ὥρα ἵνα πᾶς ὁ ἀποκτείνας ὑμᾶς δόξῃ λατρείαν προσφέρειν τῷ Θεῷ. καὶ ταῦτα ποιήσουσιν\, ὅτι οὐκ ἔγνωσαν τὸν πατέρα οὐδὲ ἐμέ. ἀλλὰ ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν ἵνα ὅταν ἔλθῃ ἡ ὥρα\, μνημονεύητε αὐτῶν ὅτι ἐγὼ εἶπον ὑμῖν. ταῦτα δὲ ὑμῖν ἐξ ἀρχῆς οὐκ εἶπον\, ὅτι μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν ἤμην. Νῦν δὲ ὑπάγω πρὸς τὸν πέμψαντά με\, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐρωτᾷ με ποῦ ὑπάγεις! ἀλλ᾽ ὅτι ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν\, ἡ λύπη πεπλήρωκεν ὑμῶν τὴν καρδίαν. ἀλλ᾽ ἐγὼ τὴν ἀλήθειαν λέγω ὑμῖν· συμφέρει ὑμῖν ἵνα ἐγὼ ἀπέλθω. ἐὰν γὰρ ἐγὼ μὴ ἀπέλθω\, ὁ παράκλητος οὐκ ἐλεύσεται πρὸς ὑμᾶς· ἐὰν δὲ πορευθῶ\, πέμψω αὐτὸν πρὸς ὑμᾶς· καὶ ἐλθὼν ἐκεῖνος ἐλέγξει τὸν κόσμον περὶ ἁμαρτίας καὶ περὶ δικαιοσύνης καὶ περὶ κρίσεως. περὶ ἁμαρτίας μέν\, ὅτι οὐ πιστεύουσιν εἰς ἐμέ· περὶ δικαιοσύνης δέ\, ὅτι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου ὑπάγω καὶ οὐκέτι θεωρεῖτέ με· περὶ δὲ κρίσεως\, ὅτι ὁ ἄρχων τοῦ κόσμου τούτου κέκριται. ῎Ετι πολλὰ ἔχω λέγειν ὑμῖν\, ἀλλ᾽ οὐ δύνασθε βαστάζειν ἄρτι. ὅταν δὲ ἔλθῃ ἐκεῖνος\, τὸ Πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας\, ὁδηγήσει ὑμᾶς εἰς πᾶσαν τὴν ἀλήθειαν·

Simon Peter said to them\, “I am going fishing.” They said to him\, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat\, but that night they caught nothing. Just as day was breaking\, Jesus stood on the beach\, yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them\, “Children\, have you any fish?” They answered him\, “No.” He said to them\, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat\, and you will find some.” So they cast it\, and now they were not able to haul it in\, for the quantity of fish. Συνόδου ; Ἰουστῖνος ὁ Φιλόσοφος; Φίρμος ὁ Ἱερομάρτυς\nἈνάγνωσις Εὐαγγελίου Ὄρθρου: Κατὰ Ἰωάννην 21:1-14\nΤῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ\, ἐφανέρωσεν ἑαυτὸν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ\, ἐγερθεὶς ἐκ νεκρῶν\, ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς Τιβεριάδος\, ἐφανέρωσε δὲ οὕτως· Ἦσαν ὁμοῦ Σίμων Πέτρος\, καὶ Θωμᾶς ὁ λεγόμενος Δίδυμος\, καὶ Ναθαναὴλ ὁ ἀπὸ Κανᾶ τῆς Γαλιλαίας\, καὶ οἱ τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου\, καὶ ἄλλοι ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ δύο. Λέγει αὐτοῖς Σίμων Πέτρος· Ὑπάγω ἁλιεύειν. Λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Ἐρχόμεθα καὶ ἡμεῖς σὺν σοί. Ἐξῆλθον καὶ ἀνέβησαν εἰς τὸ πλοῖον εὐθύς\, καὶ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ νυκτὶ ἐπίασαν οὐδέν. Πρωΐας δὲ ἤδη γενομένης ἔστη ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸν αἰγιαλόν· οὐ μέντοι ᾔδεισαν οἱ μαθηταὶ ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ἐστι. Λέγει οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Παιδία\, μή τι προσφάγιον ἔχετε; ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ· Οὔ· ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Βάλετε εἰς τὰ δεξιὰ μέρη τοῦ πλοίου τὸ δίκτυον\, καὶ εὑρήσετε. Ἔβαλον οὖν\, καὶ οὐκέτι αὐτὸ ἑλκύσαι ἴσχυσαν ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους τῶν ἰχθύων. Λέγει οὖν ὁ μαθητὴς ἐκεῖνος ὃν ἠγάπα ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ Πέτρῳ· Ὁ Κύριός ἐστι. Σίμων οὖν Πέτρος\, ἀκούσας ὅτι ὁ Κύριός ἐστι\, τὸν ἐπενδύτην διεζώσατο – ἦν γὰρ γυμνὸς -\, καὶ ἔβαλεν ἑαυτὸν εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν\, οἱ δὲ ἄλλοι μαθηταὶ τῷ πλοιαρίῳ ἦλθον – οὐ γὰρ ἦσαν μακρὰν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς\, ἀλλ’ ὡς ἀπὸ πηχῶν διακοσίων -\, σύροντες τὸ δίκτυον τῶν ἰχθύων. Ὡς οὖν ἀπέβησαν εἰς τὴν γῆν\, βλέπουσιν ἀνθρακιὰν κειμένην καὶ ὀψάριον ἐπικείμενον\, καὶ ἄρτον. Λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ἐνέγκατε ἀπὸ τῶν ὀψαρίων ὧν ἐπιάσατε νῦν. Ἀνέβη οὖν Σίμων Πέτρος\, καὶ εἵλκυσε τὸ δίκτυον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς\, μεστὸν ἰχθύων μεγάλων ἑκατὸν πεντηκοντατριῶν\, καὶ τοσούτων ὄντων\, οὐκ ἐσχίσθη τὸ δίκτυον. Λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Δεῦτε ἀριστήσατε. Οὐδεὶς δὲ ἐτόλμα τῶν μαθητῶν ἐξετάσαι αὐτόν. Σὺ τίς εἶ; εἰδότες ὅτι ὁ Κύριός ἐστιν. Ἔρχεται οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς\, καὶ λαμβάνει τὸν ἄρτον\, καὶ δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς\, καὶ τὸ ὀψάριον ὁμοίως. Ὡς δὲ παρεγένοντο πρὸς αὐτόν\, εἶπεν αὐτοῖς\, προσέχετε οὖν ἑαυτοῖς καὶ παντὶ τῷ ποιμνίῳ\, ἐν ᾧ ὑμᾶς τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἔθετο ἐπισκόπους\, ποιμαίνειν τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ κυρίου καὶ θεοῦ\, ἣν περιεποιήσατο διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος. Ἐγὼ γὰρ οἶδα τοῦτο\, ὅτι εἰσελεύσονται μετὰ τὴν ἄφιξίν μου λύκοι βαρεῖς εἰς ὑμᾶς\, μὴ φειδόμενοι τοῦ ποιμνίου· καὶ ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν ἀναστήσονται ἄνδρες λαλοῦντες διεστραμμένα\, τοῦ ἀποσπᾷν τοὺς μαθητὰς ὀπίσω αὐτῶν. Διὸ γρηγορεῖτε\, μνημονεύοντες ὅτι τριετίαν νύκτα καὶ ἡμέραν οὐκ ἐπαυσάμην μετὰ δακρύων νουθετῶν ἕνα ἕκαστον. Καὶ τὰ νῦν παρατίθεμαι ὑμᾶς\, ἀδελφοί\, τῷ θεῷ καὶ τῷ λόγῳ τῆς χάριτος αὐτοῦ\, τῷ δυναμένῳ ἐποικοδομῆσαι\, καὶ δοῦναι ὑμῖν κληρονομίαν ἐν τοῖς ἡγιασμένοις πᾶσιν. Ἀργυρίου ἢ χρυσίου ἢ ἱματισμοῦ οὐδενὸς ἐπεθύμησα. Αὐτοὶ γινώσκετε ὅτι ταῖς χρείαις μου καὶ τοῖς οὖσιν μετʼ ἐμοῦ ὑπηρέτησαν αἱ χεῖρες αὗται. Πάντα ὑπέδειξα ὑμῖν\, ὅτι οὕτως κοπιῶντας δεῖ ἀντιλαμβάνεσθαι τῶν ἀσθενούντων\, μνημονεύειν τε τῶν λόγων τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ\, ὅτι αὐτὸς εἶπεν\, Μακάριόν ἐστιν μᾶλλον διδόναι ἢ λαμβάνειν.
